After several months of planning, WEO is glad to announce the first WEO International School of EUS (WISE) course. This course will have 3 training camps of one week duration and will take place in 2018. The first module will be held March 17 to 23 in Seoul, South Korea. Application for candidates is now open.

Today, the field of EUS is making rapid progress, especially interventional EUS. However, in some countries, current training lacks well-defined programs. Training periods tend also to be long and not easily accessible, especially for the younger generation. WEO has addressed these challenges and in 2018 is launching a state-of-the-art EUS training program, WISE, focussed on teaching a specialized group of young endoscopists. WEO’s aim is to groom the selected trainees and to provide the necessary tools to become future leaders in the area of EUS.

Professor Dong-Wan Seo will be the program director. WISE trainees will be exposed to the full spectrum of EUS training, from basic anatomy to interventional EUS. WISE courses will be comprised of lectures, case presentations and hands-on training using phantom and live animals, as well as observation of real human cases. The first WISE module will take place from March 17 to 23, the second from June 23 to 29 and the third from October 6 to 12, 2018.

The first WISE program will take place at the ASAN medical center in Seoul, South Korea, a renowned EUS hub. Here, an expert group of international trainers will ensure the quality of the training, with the help of first class lab facilities and advanced technical equipment.

Registration is limited to ONLY six participants. Applications are being accepted now.  Selection of the candidates will be completed soon.  Please click here for application and program details. Last date for application is January 18, 2018. Please contact WEO secretariat at secretariat@worldendo.org for any other questions
