Advanced Diagnosis Endoscopy Course (ADEC)

ADEC will be held jointly with the Asian Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy (A-PSDE), the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) and the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (KSGE). This one-day highly interactive course is designed to help participants advance their diagnostic skills with the aid of high definition endoscopes, through case presentations and discussion with experts. In the past, this program was highly rated by participants for its interactive style which includes audience responses for quiz sessions.

Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee (CRC SC) Meeting

WEO’s CRC Screening Committee focuses on the science and practice of colorectal cancer screening, bringing together experts to address major issues and new advances in the field. This meeting will follow the well-established approach of short talks, with sufficient time left for questions and discussion. Themes will cover the cutting edge of CRC screening and provide a balance between established and promising methods and approaches.

New!: WEO International School of EUS (WISE) case conference

WEO is very pleased to announce that the first WISE case conference will take place during APDW in Seoul. The WISE team designed the case conference after the success of the WISE course which was launched at the beginning of 2018. The aim of the case conference is to increase accessibility and discussion about interesting cases and difficult procedures in EUS. WEO hopes that this activity will engage international experts to share their own experiences and best practices regarding EUS and managing patients with complex medical issues.

WEO Research Workshop

The second of the half-day workshops, which were launched at APDW 2017 in Hong Kong, is aimed primarily at early-career gastroenterologists with an interest in research in endoscopy. The workshop is designed to explain the basics of research including how to design studies, interpret data and publish results.

Better Endoscopic Service Training (BEST)

The BEST course brings together endoscopy essentials, teaching in endoscopy, and also administrative issues around endoscopy. The Seoul meeting will focus on topics concerning better understanding of ERCP and recent progress in colonoscopy in special situations.

Video Capsule Endoscopy (VCE) Course
Monday, November 19, 2018

Participants will learn how to use VCE procedures in daily practice. Topics will cover basic concepts, how to set up the system, use in diagnosing obscure bleeding and inflammatory bowel disease, how to create reports using Minimal Standard Terminology (MST) and many other relevant topics. Ultimately, the aim of this course is to improve patient care by enhancing endoscopists’ knowledge about VCE.

Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee (CRC SC) Meeting

With this meeting in Sao Paulo, WEO continues to expand CRC Screening Committee activities in Latin America. The meeting will focus on the rising burden of colorectal cancer in the region, will update participants on recent advances in the field and provide a forum for discussions on the advancement of CRC screening in Latin America.
