One of the most important Chinese conferences in this field, the BIDDF focused on the latest trends, research, and debates related to digestive diseases in China and around the world. WEO is proud to have been the co-host of this Forum for the second year in a row.

BIDDF 2019 attracted more than 3,500 on-site participants from all over China. Live webcasting from the congress enabled more than 30,000 viewers to remotely participate in the Forum. WEO President, Dr Jean-Francois Rey, and WEO Treasurer, Professor Dong Wan Seo, carried out live endoscopy demonstrations and shared their experiences with a keenly interested audience.

WEO-customized events such as the Advanced Diagnosis Endoscopy Course (ADEC) and the WEO International School of EUS (WISE) workshop were part of the main program. For the first time at the BIDDF 2019, the EUS WISE workshop saw ten young doctors present their interesting cases, and WEO would like to congratulate Drs Liu Wen, Li Zhen, and Luo Lingyu on giving the top three presentations. All three won free registration at the 2nd World Congress in GI Endoscopy, ENDO 2020 in Brazil next year, as well as travel grants to be awarded upon submission of abstracts to the upcoming EUS Summit 2019 in Seoul.
