Join us in the dialogue for better and safer endoscopy. Be a part of the World Endoscopy Organization CORE group.
WEO makes constant efforts to reach out to physicians around the world, and strives to promote quality in endoscopy to serve its members and to champion better patient care globally. As a part of this mission WEO has established a level of recognition for centers performing quality endoscopy: the Collaboration of Organized and Recognized Endoscopy units (CORE). With this recognition, WEO aims to establish dialogue with endoscopy units around the globe in order to improve the quality of endoscopy practice.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Any unit, whether large or small, that practices gastrointestinal endoscopy. CORE is open to all sizes of endoscopy units, from multiple-room facilities to single-physician private offices.
WEO will recognize endoscopy units that perform upper intestinal endoscopy and/or colonoscopy and that meet certain minimum criteria for endoscopy safety. These include standards of hygiene, disinfection and training that WEO deems necessary for any practice of endoscopy.
Units need to fill out the online application questionnaire, providing the following:
Upon submission, all applications undergo review to ensure the required standards are met, this usually takes one week. If approved, units will receive a confirmation message and will need to open their online account to finalize the application process and download their certificate.
USD 100 – Initial fee for CORE recognition (please note certificates are valid until April 1)
USD 50 – Cost per year for continuation of recognition
Note: Payment of the application fee does not guarantee CORE recognition and is non-refundable. Payment for the annual membership fee is possible via bank transfer, debit and credit card. For those who supply credit card details on application, the fee will be deducted as part of the application process. Those who select to pay via bank transfer will receive the WEO bank details.
