Please be invited to meet some of our renowned experts, especially from Brazil and other parts of Latin America:

Juan Miguel Abdo-Francis (Mexico) is currently President of the Mexican Academy of Surgery. As well as being a qualified gastroenterologist and endoscopist he has a doctorate in business administration. He is a former president of the Interamerican Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED) and has extensive expertise in the treatment of liver cirrhosis and esophageal diseases, having published several articles and abstracts, all of which makes him an ideal candidate to share his expertise at ENDO 2020.

Mouen Khashab (USA) is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He is currently Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Johns Hopkins. His HITEC course (the Johns Hopkins International Therapeutic Endoscopy Course) is an outstanding annual endoscopy course that will be highlighted during the joint symposium by SIED and Johns Hopkins – “The best of HITEC interventions and outcomes.”

Claudio Navarrete (Chile), an expert in digestive endoscopy, has contributed to the training of many interventional endoscopists throughout Latin America. His skills are recognized worldwide, and he will be sharing his experience and knowledge at the 24th Pan American Congress of Digestive Endoscopy during ENDO 2020.

Enrique Paredes-Cruz (Mexico) is a former postgraduate professor of gastrointestinal endoscopy and a former researcher for the Mexican national health system. He will be sharing his extensive expertise in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at ENDO 2020.

Arecio Peñaloza–Ramirez (Columbia) is the President for 2018–2020 of the Colombian Association of Digestive Endoscopy.  He is recognized as an Associate researcher by Colciencias (the Colombian Department of Science, Technology and Innovation). He is leader of the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy specialization program at the Fundacion Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud, and of the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Service at the Hospital de San José, Bogota.

Roque Sáenz (Chile) is currently working as Professor of Medicine of the Universidad del Desarrollo and Consultant in Internal Medicine, Clínica Alemana de Santiago. Chile. He is dedicated to the prevention of colon cancer, the practice of colonoscopy, quality in endoscopy, and equity and education, and a great expert to enhance the events at ENDO 2020.

Carlos Eduardo Oliveira dos Santos (Brazil) is the current Scientific Director of SIED (2018-2020) and a former SIED Secretary. He is chairing the scientific program of the 24th Pan American Congress.

Lix Alfredo Reis de Oliveira (Brazil) is Professor of Coloproctology at PUCCAMP (the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Brazil) and coordinator of colorectal cancer (CRC) prevention activities at SOBED (the Brazilian Society of Digestive Endoscopy). He will be sharing his knowledge of CRC screening.

Artur Adolfo Parada (Brazil) is a former president of SOBED and Chief of Endoscopy at Hospital 9 de Julho, São Paulo, Brazil. His deep interest in and devotion to endoscopy will enhance ENDO 2020.

Julio Pereira Lima (Brazil) is a past president of SIED and he will be present, with his considerable knowledge regarding ERCP and Barrett’s esophagus, at the Pan American Congress.
