WEO is pleased to announce that online application for the fourth WEO International School of EUS (WISE) course is now open.

The main objectives of this much sought-after course are to train a selected group of doctors in EUS and to prepare them to be future leaders in this field. The intention is also to address the current training gap in EUS and the need for structured training. Since its inauguration, the WISE program has also proven to be an excellent networking platform for the participants.

As elaborated by course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo, “WISE is directed at endoscopists in their early careers who wish to advance their skills in EUS practice. This specialized EUS training course focuses on basic anatomy and intermediate and advanced EUS. In the face of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are striving to ensure that continuity in training is being maintained. The WISE 2020 program was the first time the training adopted a digital format. For WISE 2021, the digital format will continue to be the primary approach. However, we are sure that in time to come, on-site hands-on training will re-commence at the designated WISE training venue, ASAN Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea. I look forward to welcoming all selected candidates then.”

The WISE 2021 program, which will start in March 2021, will comprise five online modules and one module of on-site hands-on training.

WEO is very grateful to the Asian EUS Group and the Korean EUS Group for their continuous support. WEO would also like to thank industry partners such as Olympus, Fujifilm, Sonoscape, Taewoong, and Micro-Tech.
