Our Mission

The WEO Alumni Committee brings together past WEO course participants to create a global network of GI endoscopy leaders. By sharing real-world experiences, championing WEO’s mission, and empowering the next generation, this committee keeps alumni connected, inspired, and ready to lead.

From showcasing alumni success stories to organizing exciting sessions and social gatherings at major conferences, the committee sparks opportunities for learning, mentorship, and collaboration. Working hand-in-hand with other WEO teams, it ensures alumni voices shape the future of education, research, and outreach worldwide.

Our Aims

• Support alumni and highlight WEO’s benefits to future GI endoscopists

• Build a global alumni network to advance WEO’s mission

• Provide career guidance and mentorship

• Collaborate with other committees to maximize impact

AlumniHub

Finding research collaborators takes more than shared interests. It takes trust: confidence that your ideas and data will be handled responsibly, your contributions recognized, and your time valued.

AlumniHub brings active WEO members together through research collaboration and mentorship. It will have one initial project and another one that follows.

"A named lead, a shared mission, and people you can trust."

Research Program

The Research Program is the first project and it connects people who have research ideas or data with people who want to contribute.

Selected Research Leaders open study groups in their areas of interest, including pancreatobiliary, third space, and bariatric endoscopy. Members apply to groups that match their interests, and each Leader selects their team and decides how the group works.

Collaboration goes both ways: a Leader may bring a project that needs a team, or a member may bring their own data or research idea for the group to develop, at the Leader’s discretion.

Each group is led by a named senior specialist who is accountable for it. This shared professional community provides a foundation for trust, helping members turn ideas into publications.

Mentorship Program

Coming soon: practical guidance from someone who has already walked the path.

The Mentorship Program will offer one-to-one guidance on research and publishing, career development, and technical or clinical questions.

Selected Mentors will offer a limited number of places and describe the guidance they provide. Members apply, and each Mentor chooses their mentees and determines how the mentorship runs.

*Who Can Join?*

AlumniHub is open to all active WEO members.

Whether you want to contribute to a project, bring your own research idea, lead a team, or guide others, AlumniHub is a place to connect.
