Expert Training Centers

Within the Outreach Program, WEO supports structured hands-on training for doctors from Africa in selected high-volume Expert Training Centers in India. These placements are designed for focused, practical upskilling in endoscopy, matched to the trainee’s level and clinical goals.

Training pathways typically include:

  • Basic endoscopy training (approx. 1 month)
  • Advanced endoscopy training (3-6 months)

The full list of Expert Training Centers is available here. The WEO Outreach Program currently operates through the centers in India.

Applications are currently closed. New opportunities will be announced on the WEO website.

Outreach Training Centers

The Outreach Program also supports regional training development in Africa through a growing network of WEO-supported centers, including Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Nairobi (Kenya), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Kigali (Rwanda), Windhoek (Namibia), and other facilities.

These centers are part of a long-term effort to strengthen local training capacity and expand access to quality endoscopy education.

The full list of OutreachTraining Centers is available here.

Trainees are selected and nominated locally and matched to suitable training centers through WEO coordination.

Experts, Tutors & Visiting Faculty

WEO is actively building a global network of tutors and visiting faculty to support training activities in Outreach Training Centers.

Opportunities include:

  • Teaching at Outreach Training Centers
  • Participation in site visits and hands-on training activities
  • Contribution to structured educational programs in partner regions

WEO coordinates visiting faculty support for Outreach Training Centers, including travel arrangements where applicable, while host centers provide local support.

We welcome experienced endoscopists who are interested in contributing to training and capacity building in underserved regions, mostly in Africa.
