WISE 2026 Main Program — Applications Are Now Closed

 

The WEO International School of EUS (WISE) founded in 2018, is a state-of-the-art EUS training program focused on teaching a specialized group of doctors in their early careers. WEO’s aim is to groom the selected trainees and to provide the necessary tools to become future leaders in the area of EUS. WEO is delighted to partner with the Asian EUS Group Korea for this important initiative.

Under the guidance of course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo, WISE trainees will be exposed to the full spectrum of EUS training, from basic anatomy to interventional and advanced EUS. WISE courses will be comprised of on-line lectures, case presentations and onsite training where applicable.

Training structure

The training format has been modified and will adopt primarily a digital format to reach a wider audience globally.

  • Five online Modules and one online symposium

  1. Module One (March 6-7, 2026): Basic Anatomy & Delineation

  2. Module Two (May 22-23, 2026): EUS Findings of Common Lesions

  3. Module Three (July 10-11, 2026): EUS-Guided Tissue Acquisition & PFC Drainage

  4. Module Four (September 18-19, 2026): Advanced Diagnostics & EUS-BD

  5. Module Five (November 13-14, 2026): EUS-Guided Tumor Management

  6. EUS Summit 2026 (October 24-25, 2026)

Please note that the above dates might be subject to change without prior notice

  • 120-150 minutes video conference per session.

  • Applicants who fulfill the application criteria will be eligible to take part in video conferences. They will be subjected to various tests, assessments and/or submit case presentations throughout the five modules where they will be scored accordingly.

  • The top six participants will be ultimately selected to take part in the onsite training program at the renowned Asan Medical Centre, a WEO center of excellence. Date to be determined later.

Venue for onsite training:

The onsite training will take place at the ASAN medical center in Seoul, South Korea, a renowned EUS hub and a WEO Center of Excellence. Here, an expert group of trainers will ensure the quality of the training, with the help of first-class lab facilities and advanced technical equipment.

WISE 2026 Egyptian Chapter — Applications are Now Closed

The WEO International School of EUS (WISE), founded in 2018, is a state-of-the-art EUS training program focused on teaching a specialized group of doctors in their early careers, under the guidance of course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo. WEO’s aim is to groom the selected trainees and to provide the necessary tools to become future leaders in EUS.

Building on the strength of the WISE program and in alignment with its objectives, the first and second WISE Egyptian Chapters, hands-on EUS training courses, were successfully held in Egypt in 2023, 2024. and 2025. These courses were directed and guided by Professor Dong-Wan Seo, the founder of WISE, and Professor Elsayed Ghoneem, Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at Mansoura University. The training focused on diagnostic linear EUS, progressing from basic to more advanced levels. The first course (2022–2023) was delivered in three modules, while the second (2024) and third (2025) courses consisted of two modules. Based on post-training evaluation, these courses have had a remarkable impact on the participating candidates, significantly enhancing their proficiency, confidence, and clinical capabilities in doing endoscopic ultrasound.

This course is organized by WEO with the participation of five Egyptian tertiary Centers.
