Program for Endoscopic Teachers (PET) – Lima 2025

We’re excited to announce that the Program for Endoscopic Teachers (PET) will take place in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, at the Centro de Convenciones de Lima. Directed by Prof Alejandro Piscoya and Dr Shivakumar Vignesh, this PET course will be held as a pre-conference event to the Pan American Digestive Diseases Week (SPED) 2025.

PET is a focused, invitation-only course designed to strengthen the skills of experienced endoscopy educators. This year’s program brings together a distinguished international and Latin American faculty for a full day of interactive learning, practical teaching strategies, and hands-on instruction.

This year's program will include:

  • Interactive discussions on what makes an effective endoscopy teacher and how to improve training environments
  • Live case-based teaching vignettes with guided critique and audience discussion
  • Hands-on training at simulation stations covering technical skills, communication, feedback, and task deconstruction
  • Small-group breakout sessions focused on cognitive skills, ergonomics, feedback delivery, and local training challenges
  • Practical guidance on formative and summative skills assessment
  • Closing reflections on how to implement lessons learned at participants’ home institutions

The faculty features internationally recognized educators including Douglas Faigel, Victoria Gomez, Michelle Anderson, Catharine Walsh, Fabian Emura, Simone Guaraldi, and other leading experts from across the Americas.

All participants for PET Lima 2025 have already been selected. We look forward to welcoming them for a high-energy, practical, and collaborative day of endoscopy education in advance of SPED 2025.

We gratefully acknowledge Olympus for their generous support of this event.
