General information: The aims and objectives of the WEO are to promote endoscopy education and high-quality endoscopy practice worldwide through international cooperation. The WEO fellowship program for endoscopy training is an important WEO endeavor towards this goal

WEO believes collaboration with endoscopy centers in China will help to improve current training opportunities and practice of ERCP to satisfy the great demand for ERCP training possibilities worldwide and engage with an expert network to share experience and best practices in ERCP.

Consolidating ERCP training offerings in high-volume endoscopy centers will improve ERCP outcome and value. WEO is delighted to collaborate with high volume Chinese endoscopy centers to offer training for fully trained endoscopists who wish to be trained in ERCP.

During the program, trainees will be exposed to the full spectrum of basic to advanced ERCP training provided by the endoscopy centers. Please note that each endoscopy center will offer different benefits and module length.

How to apply for WEO Fellowship Program

Slots are available at eight Chinese endoscopy centers. Please read the training specifics of each endoscopy center thoroughly in order to indicate your preferred training unit when applying.

Attach the required documentation before submitting your application

Requirements

Trainees will be registered endoscopists/ gastroenterologist below the age of 45.
Trainees will need to be fully trained in basic endoscopy and demonstrate full professional proficiency in English.
Only individual members of WEO are eligible to apply for WEO ERCP training program.

Required documentation

Completed application form (WEO Individual Membership ID required)
Certification that the applicant is qualified in GI endoscopy
Letter of recommendation from current employer (head of unit) including experience of the candidate and description of facilities
A complete curriculum vitae (CV)
Letter of motivation (max. 150 words)

To understand the basic skills involved in ERCP

To be aware of the complications of ERCP
