WEO is pleased to endorse the Bali Endoscopy Simulation Training (BEST) Consensus! The initiative has launched with online meetings and will conclude with an in-person meeting in Bali, Indonesia, on November 21, 2024, as part of APDW 2024.
Message from the organizer:
"We aim to create a consensus-based white paper to promote the widespread use of simulation in endoscopy. This document will provide essential information on simulation training and serve as a valuable resource for scaling up simulation training in endoscopy. We have found simulation-based mastery learning particularly effective in developing endoscopy skills. Since simulation learning is not currently integrated into endoscopy training, we would like to expand our efforts to a larger community.
Our work is part of the Asia Pacific Digestive Week 2024. We have partnered with leaders in the field of education, such as Professor McGaghie, a pioneer in simulation-based mastery learning and Fellow of the SSH Academy, and Professor Carl Wieman, a Nobel laureate in Physics and leading expert in the science of expertise.
The Consensus will have two parts. The first is online for 5 hour long meetings to disseminate the principles of science of expertise mad its application in endoscopy. The second is face to face in Bali to further discuss and obtain a consensus."
