The High-Quality Endoscopy (High-Q) Course in Upper GI Endoscopy, held in Bogotá, Colombia, on January 25, 2025, was a great success. This hybrid event, with both onsite and online options, attracted a large and engaged audience. Eight attendees joined us in person, while over 170 participants registered virtually.
Throughout the course, under the leadership of Dr. Fabian Emura and Dr. Prateek Sharma, experts shared insights through presentations. Key topics included early cancer diagnosis, esophageal endoluminal landmarks, premalignant conditions and Hp associated gastritis, and quality metrics for Barrett's esophagus. The live demos provided real-time learning opportunities, while the discussions deepened participants’ understanding of high-quality parameters in upper GI endoscopy.
The event struck the perfect balance between theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. The attendees praised the program with, notably, 100% of the onsite participants saying they would recommend the course to others.
Special thanks are given to Olympus, the Asociación Colombiana de Endoscopia Digestiva, the Sociedad Interamericana de Endoscopía Digestiva, and the EmuraCenter LatinoAmerica, for their support in making this event a success.
