We love hearing how the WISE course is shaping the careers of participants around the world. Below, a trainee from our recent endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) training program shares their experience, from hands-on learning across multiple hospital sites to the mentorship of our faculty and the lasting bonds formed with fellow trainees.
His words are a wonderful reminder of the impact this program continues to have on the endoscopy community.
Dear WEO and WISE EUS Egyptian Chapter Organizing Committee, trainers, and leadership,
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude and absolute happiness for the opportunity to participate in the recent endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) training program.
I want to extend a special thank you to the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) for accepting me from the waiting list. Being given the chance to join this fruitful training program was incredibly meaningful to me, and it has already turned out to be an invaluable milestone in my professional journey.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation and special thanks to Dr. Elsayed Ghoneem for his exceptional leadership, dedication, and guidance throughout this program. His expertise and support have been truly inspiring.
The program was outstanding in every way. The opportunity to undergo hands-on training across multiple hospital facilities was immensely beneficial. Experiencing different clinical environments, distinct hospital workflows, and a diverse variety of advanced equipment has truly broadened our perspective and elevated our technical adaptability. Furthermore, the sheer volume and the successfully selected cases at these institutions provided an unparalleled learning ground. Reviewing such a large number of complex cases gave both me and my colleagues profound clinical insight and a massive boost to our hands-on experience.
Beyond the exceptional medical training, it was a true joy to meet and connect with new colleagues from different backgrounds. Sharing our unique perspectives was incredibly enriching, and over the course of the module, we truly became more than just a team—we became a family.
This initial experience has left me incredibly enthusiastic, and I am eagerly anticipating the second module. I can hardly wait to dive back into the training, continue our learning journey, and reunite with everyone.
I am confident that the knowledge, skills, and camaraderie gained here will significantly enhance our daily practice. All of these experiences will undoubtedly help us gain more advanced expertise, ultimately leading to better management and superior outcomes for our patients.
Thank you once again to Dr. Ghoneem, the organizing committee, and the dedicated trainers (Dr. Hussein Okasha, Dr. Moaz Elshair, Dr. Khaled Ragab and Dr. Mostafa Shehata) for your hard work, hospitality, and unwavering commitment to advancing our field.
With highest regards and appreciation
Dr. Ahmed Zaid
