Following ENDO 2026, the World Endoscopy Organization is pleased to welcome its new Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term.
We are happy to announce Dr. Asadur Jorge Tchekmedyian of Uruguay as the new WEO President. With his vision and commitment to the field of endoscopy, Dr. Tchekmedyian will guide WEO into its next chapter and build on the organization’s ongoing efforts to advance endoscopy worldwide.
He will be joined by a team of leaders whose expertise will help strengthen WEO’s work. Together, they will continue to advance education, innovation, quality, safety, and equitable access to care.
The new Executive Committee comprises:

Past President: Lars Aabakken (Norway)
Secretary General: Claudio Iglesias (Uruguay)
Treasurer: Jorge Orillac (Panama)
