WISE 2025 MAIN PROGRAM

 

The WEO International School of EUS (WISE) founded in 2018, is a state-of-the-art EUS training program focused on teaching a specialized group of doctors in their early careers. WEO’s aim is to groom the selected trainees and to provide the necessary tools to become future leaders in the area of EUS. WEO is delighted to partner with the Asian EUS Group Korea for this important initiative.

Under the guidance of course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo, WISE trainees will be exposed to the full spectrum of EUS training, from basic anatomy to interventional and advanced EUS. WISE courses will be comprised of on-line lectures, case presentations and onsite training where applicable.

Training structure

The training format has been modified and will adopt primarily a digital format to reach a wider audience globally.

  • Five online Modules and one online symposium
  1. Module One (March 14-15) : Basic Anatomy
  2. Module Two (May 16-17) : EUS findings of common lesions
  3. Module Three (July 11-12) : EUS-guided tissue acquisition
  4. Module Four (September 12-13) : Advanced anatomy and diagnostics 
  5. Module Five (December 5-6) : Interventional EUS
  6. EUS Summit 2025 (October 25-26)

  • 120-150 minutes video conference per session.

  • Applicants who fulfill the application criteria will be eligible to take part in video conferences. They will be subjected to various tests, assessments and/or submit case presentations throughout the five modules where they will be scored accordingly.

  • The top six participants will be ultimately selected to take part in the onsite training program at the renowned Asan Medical Centre, a WEO center of excellence. Date to be determined later.

Venue for onsite training:

The onsite training will take place at the ASAN medical center in Seoul, South Korea, a renowned EUS hub and a WEO Center of Excellence. Here, an expert group of trainers will ensure the quality of the training, with the help of first-class lab facilities and advanced technical equipment.

WISE 2024 Egyptian Chapter

 

The WEO International School of EUS (WISE) founded in 2018, is a state-of-the-art EUS training program focused on teaching a specialized group of doctors in their early careers, under the guidance of course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo. WEO’s aim is to groom the selected trainees and to provide the necessary tools to become future leaders in the area of EUS.

Building on the strength of WISE, and continuing to WISE program objectives, the first WISE Egyptian chapter was held in Egypt in 2022- 2023. This course was directed and guided by Professor Dong-Wan Seo; the WISE founder, and Professor Elsayed Ghoneem; Associate professor of Gastroenterology, Mansoura University as a hands-on training course on the diagnostic linear EUS from basic to more advanced level through a 3-module program.

As a commitment of WEO to broadening the scope of EUS education and training on a global scale. WEO is happy to announce that a similar course focusing on hands-on training, The WISE Egyptian Chapter 2024, will commence in May 2024. This course will focus on linear EUS and will be comprised of lectures, case presentations with discussion, and hands-on training.

This course is jointly organized by WEO and the EUS group of the Egyptian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (ESDE) with the participation of Five Egyptian tertiary Centers.

EUS WISE WORKSHOP

We are very glad to announce that we have enhanced WISE program with the EUS WISE workshop. The aim of the workshop is to increase the accessibility and discussion about interesting cases and difficult procedures in EUS. WEO believes this activity will engage international experts to share their own experiences and best practices on how to perform EUS and manage patients with complex medical issues.
