The Advanced Diagnosis Endoscopy Course and Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee at APDW 2024
WEO was happy to join forces once again with A-PSDE (Asian-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy) and bring the latest research and insights in the field of endoscopy to participants at the Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW) 2024.
The Advanced Diagnosis Endoscopy Course (ADEC)
The Advanced Diagnosis Endoscopy Course, hosted by WEO at APDW 2024 on November 21, was a great success. This one-day course, a collaboration between A-PSDE and the Japanese Gastroenterology Society (JGES), aimed to improve participants' diagnostic skills using high-definition endoscopes. The program was highly interactive and featured case presentations and quiz sessions. Topics included, amongst others, early gastric carcinoma, Barrett’s esophagus, and colonoscopy quality.
Participants provided excellent feedback and praised the valuable insights shared by the speakers, who included Dr. Jean-Francois Rey, Dr. Kohei Takizawa, Prof. Lars Aabakken, Prof. Yutaka Saito, and Dr. Purnima Bhat. The course was expertly directed by Dr. Jean-Francois Rey, Dr. Noriya Uedo, Dr. Shinji Tanaka, and Prof. Yutaka Saito. The room was filled with an eager audience, highlighting the course’s significance.
The Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee (CRC SC)
The Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee (CRC SC) once again joined forces with APDW 2024 to bring attendees the latest research and insights in the field of CRC screening.
The CRC SC sessions took place on November 21, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia as part of the main congress. The first session focused on CRC quality and screening effectiveness, as well as quality assurance, and was chaired by Prof. Evelien Dekker, the WEO CRC SC Global Chair, and by Prof. Murdani Abdullah. In the second session speakers addressed quality considerations before and after colonoscopy, as well as patient satisfaction; this session was chaired by Prof. Han-Mo Chiu, WEO CRC SC Asian Chair, and by Prof. Jeon-Sik Byeon. WEO would like to extend sincere appreciation to all the speakers, moderators, and participants for their invaluable contributions to the success of this event.
