The Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee (CRC SC) convened at the Courtyard Marriott Prater/Messe hotel in Vienna, Austria, on October 11, 2024. This meeting provided a valuable platform for distinguished experts to share their latest insights, advances, and trends in colorectal cancer screening.
Absorbing Expert Working Group sessions in the morning were followed by a productive afternoon plenary session. It was encouraging to see 140 participants actively involved in the CRC SC meeting, expressing their enthusiasm for reconnecting with colleagues and staying updated on the latest developments in colorectal cancer screening.

The day after the full-day CRC SC event, a meeting was held to inaugurate a new WEO taskforce dedicated to supporting the implementation of colorectal cancer screening programs. The primary objective of this taskforce is to assist countries and regions in establishing effective screening initiatives. Further updates and developments will be shared as they arise.
Looking ahead, the CRC SC will host two sessions at Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW) 2024 in Bali this November, and the next full-day meeting is scheduled for May 2025, preceding Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2025.
