WEO President, Lars Aabakken and WEO former President, Jean-Francois Rey were very delighted to visit the Jiangsu Province Hospital (The First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University) in China recently. The Jiangsu Province Hospital is one of the canters for the WEO ERCP Fellowship training program.
WEO believes collaboration with endoscopy centers in China will help to improve current training opportunities and practice of ERCP to satisfy the great demand for ERCP training possibilities worldwide and engage with an expert network to share experience and best practices in ERCP.
Consolidating ERCP training offerings in high-volume endoscopy centers such as the Jiangsu Province Hospital will improve ERCP outcome and value.

Jiangsu Province Hospital, also known as the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University, was established in 1936. It is currently a comprehensive tertiary A-level hospital under Jiangsu Province, with three campuses. The hospital covers an area of over 370 acres, with a building area of 750,000 square meters and fixed assets totaling 3.817 billion RMB. The hospital has more than 4,500 open beds and over 7,000 staff members. In the digestive endoscopy centre, there are about 80,000 cases for gastroscopy/enteroscopy, more than 1000 ERCP, over 1000 ESD treatment and thousands of EUS examinations.
